Transparent Background Layer with Phonto

Phonto is a free app available in the Apple App Store..(it’s available for Android, too) there are five extras you can buy for one to two dollars each, including ad free and a few extra effects...you won’t need the extras for this..

First things first...having a transparent background means you can save as a png file. That means when you upload to Design Space (or Scan n Cut) you won’t need ANY clean up.
Getting a transparent background in Phonto the first time is a bit of a pain...but once you save the template it’s always there to use again...so let’s get that background made...

  1. I went through your steps, but when I get the screen where I'm supposed to click the white box and it's supposed to say REMOVE..that doesn't happen. My screen looks exactly like your example, just doesn't offer me to remove anything. :(
    Any suggestions?

  2. I just went and double checked it hadn’t changed since I wrote this, and it’s still the same on both my old and new iPads…
